The North West 200 for 2026 has its dates firmed up

The 2026 North West 200, the first major road race of the racing season, is scheduled to take place from 4-9 May, as announced by the organisers. This event is one of Northern Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting events and has grown stronger since its return following the COVID-19 pandemic. It serves as the unofficial warm-up to the Isle of Man TT and has always drawn a large number of competitors. The dates for the 2026 event have been confirmed, starting on Monday, 4 May, and ending on Saturday, 9 May. Practice sessions will begin on Wednesday, 6 May, with roads closing from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Racing action will kick off on Thursday evening with races in the Superstock, Superbike, and Supersport classes. The racing will continue on Saturday, 9 May, with a packed six-race program featuring various classes, including Superbike, Supertwin, Supersport, and Superstock contests. Broadcasting details for the event are yet to be announced but are expected to be covered by BBC Northern Ireland. The North West 200 in 2026 will be followed by the Isle of Man TT a few weeks later, with Michael Dunlop aiming to expand his record of 33 victories at the TT.
